Saints Bounce Back
The St Catherine's Saints bounced back from a loss to Trinity Episcopal by defeating St. Anne's - Belfield by the score of 3 - 0. It was a back and forth game until Lilli Marcia scored from 20 yards out with 11:30 left in the 1st half. Then, with 4 minutes left in the half, Peyton Hudson scored from the right side to give the Saints a 2 - 0 halftime lead.
Finally with 5:30 left in the game, Cara Menges, next to the goal passed to a charging Emma Mitchell on her left for the last goal. Menges said, "it was the right thing, she had a higher percentage shot".
Coach Laurie Marshalek said she had emphasized the Saints "need to finish" and credited her "solid returning core" for the victory. When asked about their new goalkeeper, Ashley Boardman, who took over for All-star Emily Wigg she stated that Boardman has "risen to the occasion".
